Stone Theatre Gallery, Newnham Tarace 10 - 24 February
As mentioned yesterday, the Croatia Showcase was the second exhibition that I saw in London on Saturday. Beatiful exhibition and place. Has some problems fining the Gallery, but once I got there, I was positively surprised. I liked few clothes there, specially jacket and a grey dress and though that could wear them during the day.
The main message of this exhibition was to give people a choice whether they should follow the fashion and be some sort of victim of this world or be more independent and free, wearing what ever they want, where and how. I totaly agree with the designer. Fashion world can be very powerful and have a huge influence on people's minds. The media tells us what trends are in, tell us what to wear, how and which designer. What is trendy and what isn't. But at the end of the day, it's our choice what we want to do with it.
Jak wspomnialam wczoraj, wystawa ciuchow jednej z trzech projektantki z Chorwacji byla jedna z dwoch wystaw, ktore odwiedzilam w Londynie w Sobote. Piekna wystawa w pieknym miejscu. Mialam troche trudnosci ze znalezieniem samej galerii, ale jak tylko ja znalazlam, bylam bardzo pozytywnie zaskoczona widokiem. Podobalo mi sie pare rzeczy, zwlaszcza marynarka i szara sukienka, i pomyslalam ze moglabym je nosic w ciagu dnia.
Glownym przeslaniem tej wystawy bylo danie ludziom szansy wyboru, czy chca podazac za moda i byc pewnego rodzaju ofiara tego swiata, albo byc bardziej niezaleznym i wolnym, noszac rzeczy ktore nam sie podoba, gdziekolwiek i jakkolwiek. To media mowia nam jakie trendy obowiazuja w danym sezonie, mowia nam co nosic, jak nosic i jakiego projektanta. Co jest na czasie a co nie. Ale to do nas nalezy ostatnie slowo, to nasz wybor czy chcemy byc w tym swiecie czy tez nie.
